Finding your place

Deirdre Day has lived in the Hudson Valley for ten years after taking that well-worn path from the East Village to Brooklyn to Montclair, New Jersey.   She’s worked in a thousand different jobs from advertising copy-writing, to magazine writing, to college teaching and now-- real estate.

Deirdre Day majored in Semiotics with the emphasis on art and writing at Brown, Creative Writing at NYU and English literature at CUNY-Graduate Center, gradually making herself less employable at every turn.

After doing a bunch of things like teaching and writing and whatnot, she moved to the Hudson Valley with dogs and cats where she now lives in an old house with a big garden where she happily grows flowers and the occasional vegetable.  Her artwork is regularly shown at local galleries and she's at work on a book.
